The shelter-in-place order has been lifted after an hours-long standoff situation in Wilmington, DE, overnight. The gunman, 31-year-old Bernard Goodwyn of Smyrna, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Thursday morning. It started around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, 6/3, when officers responded to a call for service near 25th and Market Streets. Goodwyn opened fire on the officers as they entered the apartment building. Three police officers were shot and taken to a nearby hospital. They are all in stable condition; one has been treated and released. SWAT and police surrounded the building. Residents in the area were told to shelter-in-place or avoid the scene. At around 6:20 a.m., SWAT officers used a ladder from a fire truck and climbed to a third story window. Two women and a young child were led out of the window and down the ladder. When police were finally able to enter Goodwyn's apartment, they found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A gun was recovered. Police lifted the shelter-in-place order at 10:30 a.m.

They were last seen around 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning, 6/2, on the 4100 block of Freeland Avenue. Police believe they could be heading to Illinois or locally to the Kensington and Allegheny Ave area. She was driving a silver Honda Accord with Pennsylvania license plate LHT-7215. Nichols is described as 5' 7", 160 pounds, medium build, with blonde hair, green eyes, a feather tattoo behind her left ear and a removed piercing scar by her left eye. Sophia also has green eyes and blonde hair. If you have any information, call Northwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3353. See photo below.

A grandmother who was critically injured in an arson fire last week at a row home in Bridesburg has succumbed to her injuries. 56-year-old Maureen Davis died a week after she was rescued and taken to the hospital. The fire happened around 2 a.m. on the 2200 block of Kennedy Street. Her grandchildren, 3-year-old Amera Hamilton and 10-year-old Brian Harris Jr., were rescued by firefighters through a second story window. They were taken to St. Christopher's Hospital in stable condition. At the time of the fire, their mother, Karrine Mahaffey, was actually at the police station filing a complaint on her abusive ex-boyfriend who had threatened them. Police believe the fire was intentionally set. No word on any charges.

UPDATE: The Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death of 56-year-old Maureen Davis a homicide. The coroner said she died due to complications from smoke inhalation.
