Philadelphia Police are searching for a dirt bike rider in the deadly shooting of a man in West Philadelphia on Thursday evening, 6/17. They have released a surveillance photo of the suspect. It happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of 52nd Street and Girard Avenue. Several dirt bike riders were following a Chevy Impala. The 37-year-old victim had pulled over to let a passenger out to go into a store. That's when one dirt bike rider pulled up and fired six shots into the driver's side. The man was shot twice in the head and once in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police believe this may have been a case of road rage, but the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as a Black man with a thin build. He was wearing a blue and white Troy Lee Designs GP Yamaha Jersey long sleeve shirt with graphic patches on the sleeves, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a black full-face mask. He was driving a green dirt bike. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. If you have any information, call 215-686-3334.

Three people were shot at a graduation party in West Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, 6/19. It happened around 7:30 p.m. on the 5900 block of Lansdowne Avenue. Gunmen fired over 50 shots into a crowd of 30 people who were celebrating. A 21-year-old man was shot twice in the back, a 36-year-old woman was shot once in the calf, and an 36-year-old woman was shot once in the calf. They were all taken to the hospital in private vehicles and are in stable condition. One suspect was detained for questioning.

Earlier Saturday and only four blocks away, two men were killed and a child injured in a separate triple-shooting. It happened just before 2:30 p.m. on the 1600 block of North 55th Street. A white SUV drove up and shots were fired at the men standing outside. The two 23-year-old men were struck multiple times. They were taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where they were pronounced dead. The 3-year-old child suffered gun shot wounds to his legs. "The three-year-old suffered injuries to the leg, and he is in stable condition, expected to be released from the hospital," Deputy Commissioner Ben Nash said. "He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. We are grateful that the three-year-old is not in worse shape than he is but nonetheless, it's a devastating situation for any child to be a part of and a witness."

UPDATE: The two men have been identified at Raquane Wright, of Upper Darby, and Evan Baylor, of Philadelphia. The boy is Wright's son.

Statement from Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw:
"As many of us began the day celebrating Juneteenth for the first time as a Federally recognized holiday, we again found ourselves lamenting as an otherwise beautiful afternoon had been sullied with gun violence.

In 3 separate shootings, there have been a total of 5 victims - 2 of whom have been killed, with the other 3 victims in stable condition. One of these gunshot victims is a 3-year-old child.

Every act of gun violence is tragic. However, it is especially disturbing and sickening when the victims are among our most vulnerable. We should never tolerate violence against our children, as all of us - not just the police - are charged with the responsibility to keep them safe from danger and harm.

While holiday celebrations will continue throughout the city, our investigators will work tirelessly to bring justice to all of those affected by the scourge of gun violence."

Sports
The NBA has fined Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid $35,000 for "pursuing Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins in an unsportsmanlike manner and failing to comply with an NBA Security interview following the on-court incident." The altercation happened in the fourth quarter of Friday night's, 6/18, game in Atlanta. Hawks' backup center Bruno Fernando was suspended for tonight's Game 7 for coming off the bench during the incident.
