Authorities in Cumberland County, NJ, have identified the girl who was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting on the evening of the Fourth of July. Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said that 10-year-old Jasayde Holder had just finished the fourth grade at Dane Barse School. It happened around 11:15 p.m. on the 700 block of West Early Drive in Vineland. She was taken to the hospital were she died from her injuries. Holder was visiting her grandmother at the time. The shooter was in the car when he opened fire. Police do not know who the intended target was. Investigators are asking anyone in the area to check their video surveillance for possible footage of the suspect between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on July 4. If you have any information, call 609-579-1431.

A man was killed and another injured when a crane fell in University City on Tuesday night, 7/6. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 3100 block of Convention Avenue. The crane was lifting heavy equipment from a tractor trailer and putting on the work site when it collapsed. A 55-year-old worker was trapped under the crane. Rescue crews were able to quickly free the worker and the crane operator. They were both taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. The worker died from his injuries. No word on the status of the operator. L+I is on the scene. There is also a fuel leak from the crane.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced on Tuesday, 7/6, that for the first time since March 17, 2020, New Jersey is reporting zero new deaths related to coronavirus COVID-19. He said, "There's only one way to make sure we have more days like today: Get vaccinated." New Jersey has almost 70% of the adult population fully vaccinated.
