3 Men Charged in Death of 10yo Jasayde Holder; 31 Charged in Operation 24/7; Boy Hit by Pickup Truck

Three people have been charged in the drive-by shooting of a 10-year-old Vineland, New Jersey girl on the night of July 4th. Jasayde Holder was visiting her grandmother on the 700 block of W. Earl Drive where she was shot. She later died of her injuries. 28-year-old William L. Harris of Vineland was charged with First Degree Murder and First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter. 20-year-old Xavier L. Bogan of Upper Deerfield Township was charged with First Degree Conspiracy. 28-year-old Karonjah N. Witt of Vineland was charged with First Degree Conspiracy. There is no word on who was the intended target. The three are also charged in connection to a shooting earlier on July 4th on Francine Drive in Vineland.

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced on Wednesday, 7/14, the arrests of 31 individuals charged with sexually exploiting children online as part of a statewide sting. It was dubbed 'Operation 24/7' and included over a dozen agencies across the state. The operation lasted from April 1 to June 30. The men range in age fro 18 to 65. Charges range from sexual assault to possession or distribution of child rape videos. Grewal says that tips to state police in the first six months of 2021 are 39% higher than all of 2019.

A boy riding a bike was hit by a pickup trunk in South Philadelphia on Wednesday, 7/14, an the driver was attacked by a small crowd when he tried to flee the scene. It happened around 4 p.m. on Oregon Avenue near 8th Street. The 13-year-old boy was struck by a black pickup truck that had made a u-turn. He was caught with his bike under the wheel and dragged. The passenger of the truck stayed inside, but the driver got out and started to flee on foot. A small crowd caught and attacked the driver, preventing him from fleeing. The boy and driver were taken to the hospital where the man was taken into custody. The boy is expected to survive. The man is currently charged with DUI. Police are looking for the person or people who assaulted the driver as he tried to flee.
