The Philadelphia School Board voted unanimously 7-0 on Tuesday night, 8/24, to require all teachers and staff members get vaccinated against COVID-19. Details on the mandate still have to be worked out and will be discussed with the teachers' union. Those details include the start date and possible disciple for those who do not comply. There will be exceptions given for medical reasons and "sincerely held" religious beliefs. Those employees that do not get vaccinated will be required to undergo regular testing for coronavirus COVID-19. School starts next week, August 31. Also, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced that masks will be required at all schools for students, faculty, staff and visitors across the archdiocese.

Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock, aka Rakim Hasheem Allen, has entered an open guilty plea to one count pf possession with intent to deliver and one count of receiving stolen property. She pled guilty in September 2019 to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to six months of probation.
