There is now a $50,000 reward after a 7-month pregnant woman and her unborn baby were shot and killed after her baby shower in Philadelphia's Lawncrest section on Saturday night, 11/20. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 6100 block of Palmetto Street. 32-year-old Jessica Covington was unloading presents from her car outside of her home when a gunman opened fire. Covington was hit in the head and the stomach. She was taken to Einstein Medical Center. Covington and her baby were pronounced dead a short time later. Police say that at least 11 gunshots were fired. No weapons were recovered scene. No arrests have been made. They believe it was a targeted attack. "Last night's murder of a pregnant woman and her unborn baby is absolutely heartbreaking," Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said. "While this attack appears to have been targeted, we will not rest until this obviously dangerous individual is in custody. I am pleased that the Mayor has increased the reward for the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator to $50,000." Homicides in Philadelphia automatically have a $20,000 reward. Officials decided to authorize a larger reward in this case. If you have any information, call police at 215-686-TIPS.

A dump truck lost control and drove straight into the side of a home along Rt 30 in Atlantic County, NY, on Monday morning, 11/22, causing a partial collapse. It happened around Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and Antwerp Avenue in Egg Harbor City. The dump truck and another car were involved in an accident closer to Bremen Avenue. The truck lost control and continued on until it smashed into the side of the home. Only minor injuries were reported. The house suffered extensive damage.
