Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (D, Pa.) was carjacked in South Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, 12/22, after a meeting with other members of Congress. It happened around 2:45 p.m. on the 1900 block of Pattison Avenue in FDR Park where the meeting took place. She was walking back to her blue 2017 Acura MDX when she was approached by two armed men. One took her keys and the vehicle while the other followed in a dark SUV. She was not injured. Her personal cell phone, government cell phone, purse, and government identification were taken with her car.

The FBI was able to track the car. Delaware State Police found the vehicle outside the Edge Fitness on 2800 Fashion Center Boulevard in Newark, Delaware in the Christiana Mall area. There were 5 individuals inside (4 men and 1 woman). No word on how they are connected to the crime and any charges. Scanlon represents Pennsylvania's 5th Congressional District which includes South Philadelphia, Delaware County, and parts of Chester County.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weinstraub said that authorities are looking for two men that have been missing for over two months and that they believe foul play may be involved. 50-year-old Matthew Branning of Sellersville and 47-year-old Michael Allen Stark of Royersford are co-workers who were seen leaving work together on October 15. Video showed Branning use an ATM in Sellersville about 4 p.m. An unidentifiable person could be seen in the back seat of his 2002 Lexus SUV (PA license plate KWS-5619). Branning's cell phone was then tracked to Cape May, NJ, where only Stark was seen on video making a purchase at a Wawa at 9:24 p.m. that night. Toll information then showed the Lexus going back north and west on the Atlantic City Expressway. Branning and his car have not been seen since. Stark was seen at a pawn shop in Garden City, Michigan on November 13. If you have any information, contact Bucks County detectives at 215-348-6056, or submit tips anonymously through PA Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477). (see photos below)

A wild police chase ended with the arrest of two robbery suspects on Wednesday night, 12/22. It started just before 6 p.m. after employees of a pharmacy on the 2900 block of North 5th Street waived down police and alerted them of the robbery. The employees were able to give a description of the suspects' blue Dodge Charger. They had just stolen $5,000 in merchandise from the store. The vehicle took off when police approached and led officers in a winding chase through North Philly. The pursuit ended at Janney Street and Allegheny Avenue in Port Richmond. Police arrested the 28-year-old woman who was driving and a 27-year-old man.
