A man and his dog were found dead in a Burlington County, NJ, apartment building on Saturday morning, 1/5, and a suspect is under arrest. 25-year-old Donovan G. Hollingsworth is charged with first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a weapon with unlawful purpose in the death of 26-year-old Thomas Pierson III and his dog 'Django.' Police were called at 9:15 a.m. to the Olympus Apartments on Baker Boulevard in Evesham Township to the report of a possible dog attack. When they arrived, they found Pierson and the dog dead in the stairwell. He had been stabbed. Hollingsworth was taken into custody at Virtua Vorhees Hospital where he was undergoing treated for minor injuries sustained during the attack. He is now at a Burlington County jail pending a detention hearing.

A 3-year-old child was shot and injured in a fight between two tow truck drivers early Sunday morning, 2/6, in Port Richmond. It happened around 12:15 a.m. at a Jiffy Lube on the 3000 block of Aramingo Avenue in Port Richmond. "We know this is a place that frequents drag racing and people watching those events. There's usually tow trucks that sit in this Jiffy Lube," said Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker. Two of the truck drivers got into an argument. One of the drivers went back to his truck, retrieved a handgun, and began shooting. The child was sitting in the cab of the other truck. Three shots went through the door and hit the child in the leg. They were taken to Temple University Hospital's Episcopal Campus and then transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. The shooter left in his black, unmarked truck with tinted windows and a tow hitch underneath. The reason for the argument is not known. This is an ongoing investigation.

U.S. Marshals arrested a man on Friday, 2/4, who was wanted for a shooting last month in Coatesville, Chester County. 25-year-old Moenell Coleman is charged with two counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and other crimes. It started before 10 a.m. January 26 inside a market on on East Lincoln Highway. A woman in her 20s accidentally bumped into Coleman while in the market. She apologized. Coleman followed the woman home and fired several shots at her in the doorway. The woman was grazed in the leg and her brother was also struck.
