A Philadelphia man is facing charges after he is accused of stabbing six of his family members in their home early Friday morning, 2/11. 30-year-old Jamal Holmes is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, and other related offenses. It happened around 4 a.m. on the 3000 block of North Front Street in Kensington. Police arrived to find the victims, ages 26 to 57, stabbed multiple times. They were discovered on the second floor, in three separate bedrooms, and all in their beds. Two 7-inch knives were also found. Holmes was located a short distance from the home and taken into custody. A motive has not yet been determined.

Philadelphia police identified the man who shot a SWAT officer who was serving a warrant in Fairhill on Friday afternoon, 2/11. 45-year-old Kristian Reyes is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, simple assault, along with gun and drug charges. The Gun Violence Task Force, with support from SWAT, was trying to serve a drug warrant on Reyes on the third floor of a building on the 100 block of W. Lehigh Avenue. Reyes opened fire through the wall and struck the lead officer in the chest. Luckily the officer was wearing a bullet proof vest and survived. Reyes jumped out the window onto a second floor roof where he was taken into custody. The gun he used was reported stolen from Upper Darby. He is being held on $3.5 million bail.

A man was found stabbed to death inside an SUV in the parking lot of a Wawa in South Philadelphia early Monday morning, 2/14. The man was found around 4 a.m. at the store on the 1600 block of S. Christopher Columbus Boulevard. The 50-year-old victim had been in the store around 1 a.m. buying food. He left and returned to his car. A few hours later, customers noticed noticed him in his car and notified the security guard that the man needed help. Fire rescue broke a window to get the man out of the SUV. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The store was closed for several hours as police investigated. They are looking into surveillance video from the area.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Roger B. Segal.
