Two people were shot in Philadelphia Wednesday night. One shooting occurred at 62nd and Callowhill Streets in West Philadelphia, where police found a 16-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The second shooting happened at 800 N 9th Street, where an attempted robbery victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

Colwyn Mayor Daniel Rutland said Wednesday he has suspended three officers in connection with the alleged use of a stun gun on a teenage suspect. The alleged incident occurred while the suspect was in police custody last week. The 17-year-old youth told reporters that the officer hit him once with the stun gun because he wouldn’t be quiet.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden says Americans should discount President Obama’s opponents and get behind the administration’s vision for the economy. Biden spoke Wednesday night at Lafayette College, where he delivered the school’s “Lives of Liberty” lecture. Biden says achieving Obama’s goals in education, health care, infrastructure and renewable energy are the key to economic growth and America’s place on the world stage.
