A Delaware County man turned himself in for the deadly road shooting in Drexel Hill on Friday night, 3/25. 28-year-old Lloyd Amarsingh is charged with third degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and possessing an instrument of crime. He allegedly shot and killed 56-year-old Jimmy Hunt of Havertown around 8 a.m. Friday morning on Lansdowne Ave near Winding Way by Bonnor-Prendergast High School. Amarsingh told police that he did not intentionally shoot Hunt. He said that he was inside his car at a red light. He was attempting to unload his handgun when it misfired. Amarsingh fled the scene. Hunt was shot in the head inside his van nearby. He was pronounced dead at Lankenau Medical Center around 10:30 a.m. Police used area surveillance video to identify Amarsingh's white Audi. They obtained a search warrant and found the gun and vehicle at his home. Hunt was a husband and father of four.

Authorities in New Jersey are investigating after a 9-year-old girl was shot and killed during a brawl in Trenton, NJ, on Friday night, 3/25. Police responded around 7:30 p.m. to a large fight among a group of people at Kingsbury Square. 9-year-old SeQuoya Bacon-Jones was found with a single gunshot wound. She was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and then to Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick Hospital. Bacon-Jones was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. "Please, we must step up together," Mayor Reed Gusciora said in a statement Saturday. "I'm grieving for the family and friends whose hearts are absolutely broken this morning. I know investigators are doing everything they can to bring about justice. But they need help from our residents." The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and Trenton Police are investigating.

Two juvenile boys have surrendered to authorities after they were caught on video sicking their dogs on a cat in Philadelphia's Frankford section last week. The 17-year-old and 12-year-old are charged with animal fighting, aggravated animal cruelty and conspiracy. It happened on Tuesday morning, 3/22, on Granite Street. The boys were walking their dogs when they passed a cat sitting on a porch. They stopped and let their animals off their leashes. They could be heard shouting "good boy" as encouragement while the two dogs viciously attacked the cat. Eventually someone came out and pulled the cat to safety. "Buddy" the cat suffered severe injuries, but is still hanging on after surgery. "While this act of cruelty was especially shocking in its intentional nature, the outpouring of support for Buddy the cat and the effort to bring the offenders to justice has been overwhelming," said Julie Klim, CEO of the Pennsylvania SPCA. The boys are being held pending a detention hearing.
