Philadelphia Police are asking the public's help in identifying three suspects wanted in the shooting of a 15-year-old in an attempted carjacking last month in the Wissinoming neighborhood. It happened in the evening of March 24 on the 6200 block of Mulberry Street. 15-year-old Sean Toomey was shot and killed outside of his home. He had gone to retrieve a case of water from the car parked on the street when he was attacked. Police believe the suspects had unsuccessfully attempted to steal another car up the street moments before. They also think they are responsible for a number of other similar crimes. There is a $20,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. If you have any information, contact police. Sean's family is planning a peace rally next Tuesday, 4/12, at 5:30 p.m. at Frankford and Cottman Avenues in Northeast Philadelphia.

A driver was killed when a tire came off the back of a pick-up truck going the other way and crashed into the man's windshield. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday, 4/8, on I-95 in South Philadelphia between Broad Street and Front Street. The pick-up truck was heading northbound when the tire came off the back. It hit the median and went airborne before landing on the car traveling southbound. 37-year-old Iftikhar Jalil from Upper Darby was trapped inside his vehicle. Rescuers had to cut off the roof to pull him out. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he died. The truck driver did stop. No word on any charges.

A man has been arrested in a 32-year-old cold case in Wildwood, NJ. 62-year-old Jerry Rosado is charged with second-degree sexual assault of then 20-year-old Susan Negersmith in 1990. Negersmith of Carmel, New York, was visiting Wildwood on Memorial Day Weekend with friends in 1990. On May 27, her body was found behind a restaurant. An autopsy revealed she had been sexually assaulted. Investigators were able to isolate a DNA profile from her body believed to be from her attacker. Over the years, authorities compared that DNA to many persons-of-interest in the case without a match. In 2018, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit used a new technique that utilizes DNA. It's called Genetic Genealogy Analysis. The DNA of the unknown assailant is sent through known genealogy databases trying to find their close relatives. Through the analysis, it was determined that Rosado was the probable owner of the DNA and a subsequent test confirmed that. He is now charged in the sexual assault. He has not been charged with the murder. The investigation is ongoing.
