NJ Coyote Sightings, Philadelphia Cigarette Tax, New SPCA HUP Program

New Jersey health officials are advising residents of coyote sightings in Monmouth County. The Monmouth County Regional Health Commission says the sightings have occurred in the central coastal areas of the county. The sightings have not been localized within any specific neighborhood. The commission says coyotes are naturally wary of humans, but their behavior changes if given access to human food and garbage.

Woman from Atlantic City is sentenced to prison after collecting FEMA money after natural disaster

Debbie Hicks, a woman from Atlantic City, NJ was sentenced to 27 months in prison after being found guilty for stealing benefits from FEMA after the 2013 noreaster.

She received federal assistance because of her apartment being damaged after the 2010 noreaster. A FEMA inspector checked out her apartment and declares that her unit was uninhabitable.

Shooting in Fairhill, Union Members Hunger Strike, Collapse Victim Loses Legs

A man was shot and killed this morning in the Fairhill section of Philadelphia. Apparently the man was walking to work about 5 am on the 2800 block of Lawrence Street. Chief Inspector Scott Small says at least eight shots were fired from close range from a semi-automatic handgun. Police are questioning witnesses and reviewing surveillance camera video to lead them to the shooter.

As the Rolling Stones get set for the first of two shows here in Philadelphia Tuesday night, a local choir was rehearsing for their big part in the production. One child is dead after two children were struck by a vehicle in Chester this afternoon. The incident happened at W. 9th Street and Highland Avenue. There is no word on the identity of the victim or additional injuries at this time.

They have added a second night on 21st in addition to the concert on the 18th. The rumor has it that Brad Paisley will warm up the audience. During its years of operation, the SS United States carried more than 1 million passengers between 1952 and 1969. Father's Day on the grounds of Merion Golf Club at the US Open was a special father son event for many, including Michael Weaver. Michael qualified for the Open as an amateur, but made the cut, setting up a dream scenario for him and his father, Bill. The Wildwoods Restaurant Association’s 2013 Restaurant Week will be starting on June 16th- 21st. The event will also take place on August 25th-30th.
