Curtis Institute Streams Symphony Orchestra Concerts

Our technology has reached the point that we can stream music, movies and live events no matter where we are. Philadelphia's Curtis Institute has brought that idea to streaming their classical concerts live. This will start a whole new way of experiencing symphonies and bringing them to a broader audience than just those able to be in attendance in person. As I am busy, I would love to "attend" a live concert while doing work at my home or while on my computer. This week the Curtis Symphony Orchestra is participating in the Dresden Music Festival in Germany. Yesterday's performance was streamed live so anyone back here in Philadelphia could have listened. This type of live event streaming has been done before but this was the most popular streamed symphony yet. Curtis Institute has plans to stream more of it's performances in the future.

Here is what they played during yesterday's live stream:
Brahms:
Prelude and Fugue in G minor for organ, WoO 10.
Academic Festival Overture in C minor opus 80.
Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra in A minor, Op 102.
'O Welt, ich muss dich lassen', chorale prelude for organ, Op 122 No. 3 and No. 11.
Symphony No. 2 in D major, op.73.
