Madonna Tickets Bring in $100,000 to Help Dogs in Puppy Mills

Madonna will be beginning her 10th tour, not counting guest performances, on August 28, 2012 at the Wells Fargo Center. This North American tour will be following her Europe tour which began May 31. As the first show of a tour is very sought after it seems to reason that tickets would be going for skyrocketing prices.

Two longtime supporters of the PA Animal Shelter successfully auctioned their 4 Madonna tickets to the Wells Fargo Center for $100,000. The tickets were originally donated by the jewelry designer Susan Rosan and were part of an auction to benefit the dogs of Puppy Mills. This money will be going to Main Line Animal Rescue's anti-puppy mill campaigns and the shelter's new recovery/training center in Chester County, PA as well as the MLAR's campaigns focusing on the USDA's failture to protect dogs in federally licensed breeding kennels.

Nick Adams and Dee Silvers were the lucky bid winners and are believed to have paid the highest for Madonna tour tickets. Silvers says that Madonna is a symbol of freedom and strength to her and what the dogs endure is the complete opposite, making her happy to spend the money to help them. This well-known non-profit has been making quite a splash the last couple of years as it has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey "Puppy Mill Show" in 2008.
