A Philadelphia police officer witnessed a shooting in the Grays Ferry section last night at 10:15 p.m. around 27th and Tasker Streets. The gunman then got in a car and left the scene. Handguns were discarded during the pursuit and recovered by police. The officer chased the gunman to 24th and Locust Streets where he shot the suspect in the arm. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening. Officers found bags of heroin and marijuana next to the car.

Police are searching for three masked gunman they say robbed the Oxford Circle Pharmacy in the Frankford section last night. The men entered the pharmacy, stole a security guard’s gun and forced the pharmacist to give them drugs before leaving the scene. No injuries were reported.

A community leader was gunned down late Wednesday night, just steps from his home in the Cobb’s Creek section of the city and police say they have charged his cousin with the crime. Gregory Scott, was ambushed exiting his car as he returned home from work by his cousin, James Scott. James Scott, along with James Hiller, were arrested Thursday; charged with murder and other related charges.
