Music News - Dave Grohl Breaks Leg, Finishes Gig; YG Shot 3 Times; The War On Drugs Sign w/ Atlantic

The Foo Fighters were playing at Heden arena in Grotenberg, Sweden, on Friday Night June 12th. During the second song of the night ("Monkey Wrench"), lead singer Dave Grohl broke his leg after falling from the front of the stage. They finished the song and Dave told the crowd, "I think I just broke my leg ... I think I really broke my leg." He promised to finish the show after getting medical attention. The band played without him for a few songs until he returned from backstage with a temporary cast and walking on crutches. Foo Fighters w/ Grohl sitting down then finished the gig. Apparently there isn't much that can stop him. There wasn't any word on if this will affect the rest of the tour. The guys are scheduled to play Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden on July 6th and 13th.

Rapper YG was shot three times in the hip while at a Los Angeles recording studio early in the morning on Friday. He was able to get himself into a car and was driven to the hospital by a friend. Apparently he was "very uncooperative" when police arrived at the hospital to interview him. His injuries are reportedly non-life threatening. The shooter has not been identified. YG's 2014 debut album My Krazy Life, which depicted gang life in South Central LA, was critically acclaimed.

It's bigger and better things for Philadelphia indie rocker's The War On Drugs. Although I guess now that the news is official they can't be called 'indie' any longer. Following the massive success of 2014's Lost in the Dream TWOD has decided to leave indie label Secretly Canadian and sign with major label Atlantic Records for a 2-album deal. Atlantic is part of Warner Music Group. Frontman Adam Granduciel says “being on a larger label brings a whole new set of resources and exposure.” The War on Drugs are currently on tour. They'll spend most of the summer at festivals in Europe as well as Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. You can watch that Bonnaroo performance live on Saturday, June 13 at 6:45pm EDT right here on Watch Live Video
