Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid is Out For Rest Of Season |

The Philadelphia 76ers announced today that rookie center Joel Embiid will be out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. The Sixers said on Monday that he would be out indefinitely, but then decided to sideline him for the rest of the year after an MRI showed his torn meniscus is worse than they expected. Pepsi is cutting 80-100 Philadelphia area jobs in response to the city's recent beverage tax over the next few months beginning today. Employees from the frontline to supervisory positions will be affected. The company said that beverage sales are down 40% in the city and up only 10-15% outside the city since the tax went into effect in January. A Pennsylvania Police Officer has now been charged with mishandling tens of thousands of dollars in local firefighter funds. 33-year-old Southampton Police Officer Brian Walters is accused of misusing $51,000 that belonged to the Feasterville Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association.
