Fiona Apple will release her 4th album on June 19th on Epic. It's called "The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do." You may remember Apple's affinity for cumbersome titles, just take a look at 1999's "When the Pawn..." *see below
This is Apple's first new release since "Extraordinary Machine" in 2005.

A man wanted for murder in New York was killed this morning when he jumped in front of a SEPTA train between Jenkintown and Noble stations. The suspect's truck was spotted speeding down Route 309 found abandoned at the Jenkintown Elementary School, triggering a lockdown of the school districts 600 students. A rainy Sunday is creating a problematic Monday across Philadelphia. Flooded streams and overloaded storm sewers puddled streets backing up traffic. High winds brought trees down interrupting power. Record Store Day 2012 is now in the books and after now its 5th it's only getting stronger. It began early this morning outside independent record stores across the area with lines of music lovers waiting for stores to open so they could get their hands on the exclusive and limited releases pressed just for today. Phillies have placed left hander Cliff Lee on the 15-day disabled lee with a strained left oblique. This comes just 3 days after Lee pitched 10 scoreless innings in a pitching duel against Matt Cain of the San Fransisco Giants. The Phillies ended up losing that game 1-0 in 11 innings.

The annual Lyrid meteor shower is expected to peak overnight tonight with the best viewing just before dawn on Sunday. However, here in Philadelphia the forecast is calling for cloudy, rainy skies starting late Saturday afternoon and getting worse through Sunday. If it wasn't for the clouds, the sky would be perfect for viewing since the moon is in the "new" phase and the skies would be dark.

Between 1957 and 1964 Dick Clark hosted Bandstand at the West Philadelphia studios of WFIL-TV, at 46th and Market. On Saturday between noon and 3 the current owners (Enterprise Center) of the nondescript building will open Studio B for those wishing to take a tour. It's fairly well preserved, they say, since establishing an endowment to maintain the Historical Landmark. A $20 contribution to the endowment is being asked for admission.
