Archbishop Chaput is scheduled to announce the fate of 27 priests linked to the sex abuse scandal. The priests had been suspended by Chaput's predecessor Cardinal Justin Rigali because of allegations of sexual abuse.

Yasine Harvey was shot at close range while leaving a corner store in West Philadelphia Wednesday night. He had just bought some food for a friend's sick aunt when a dark colored car with tinted windows drove by and someone inside opened fire. He died from his injuries Thursday morning. Police believe the target was one of the friends in the group he was with.

David Toledo, the Mayfair tire slasher, was back in court today to set a date for trial and to discuss his bail. His side pleaded with the judge to lower his bail from $260,000 saying that it was too high to afford, and citing his ties to the community and lack of prior record. Appearing on his behalf was his attorney, wife, and mother. Two people were shot in Philadelphia Wednesday night. One shooting occurred at 62nd and Callowhill Streets in West Philadelphia, where police found a 16-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The second shooting happened at 800 N 9th Street, where an attempted robbery victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

A Haverford High teacher, Keith Barnes, 50 is charged with endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct and is suspended from his job after bringing his sons age 4 and 3 to Tom and Jerry's Sports Bar on McDade Blvd, and locking the younger one in his car alone when he became unruly. Police responded to a call of a child alone in a car, Barnes came out of the bar with his other son and didn't see the big deal. They were there watching the band Blackthorn play.

Patricia Krentcil was arrested in Camden County after her daughter showed up at school with severe sunburn. Attorneys for the two Hungarian students who were killed in the collision accident in July 2010 between a tugboat pushed barge and a stranded tourist Duck Boat, have released a new video of the event that they say contains disturbing details of what actually happened.

'May Day' brought out a hundred or so Occupy protestors in Center City today. Starting out at the Wells Fargo at 17th and Chestnut around noon then moving through the streets they blocked traffic for a while at 18th and Walnut. They were under the watchful eye of Philadelphia Police the entire time, who had wagons lined up in case they needed to make mass arrests. Those proved to be unnecessary here in Philly.
