Hurricane Irene is expected to hit South Jersey sometime starting late Saturday Evening into Sunday. With this powerful storm likely to bring powerful winds, flooding rain, severe beach erosion, surging tides, and crippling power outages, NJ Gov. Christie has ordered all residents and visitors to evacuate Cape May County and costal areas of Atlantic and Ocean Counties.

New Jersey Governor Christie has declared a state of emergency and offered this advice for renters and vacationers - If you had plans to go to the Jersey shore this weekend, don't go. Computer models now show the eye of Hurricane Irene passing directly over South Jersey. Christie suggested voluntary evacuations of New Jersey's barrier islands and warned he could call for mandatory evacuations at any time.

Joey Vento, Owner of Geno's Steaks, Dies of Heart Attack

Joey Vento, the colorful and sometimes controversial owner of the famous cheesesteak shop Geno's Steak at the equally famous corner of 9th and Passyunk in South Philly, has passed away tonight of a massive heart attack. He was 71.

Private Money for Ackerman Questioned

Arlene Ackerman is out, but the story is far from over. $405,000 of her $905,000 payoff came from anonymous private donations. The private donations are legal and they helped the city taxpayers who only footed $500,000 of the settlement. However transparency watchdogs want to know who made the donations.
