Are Whites Leaving Philadelphia?

According to a report released this week by the Pew Charitable Trust's Philadelphia Research Initiativean, there has been an overall decline of the white population in Philadelphia over the past two decades.

The report states the city's white population dropped by 263,254 people, from 1990 to 2010, representing a larger population decrease "than the entire population of Buffalo, N.Y."

SPCA Seeks Tips on Dog Hanging in Bridesburg

The Philadelphia SPCA is searching for clues related to the death of a dog found hanged in a tree in Bridesburg. The discovery was made Wednesday night in a wooded area in the 5600 block of Tacony Street near the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission in Bridesburg.

The dog was discovered by Bobby Wildey who was walking his dog, Lacey. In addition to being hung, the dog also had a stick jammed down its throat.

Sextuplets Delivered at Abington Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia

On Wednesday Abington Memorial Hospital announced the birth of sextuplets to a Philadelphia area family.

Three boys and three girls, born premature, are under close watch and care hospital's neonatal intensive care unit.

So far, there is no word of complications for either mom or the babies and the hospital will release more information at the families discretion.

Former Resorts Atlantic City Cocktail Waitresses Sue After Losing Jobs

Nine former cocktail waitresses have filed suit against their former employer Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. They were fired in March after Resorts underwent vast changes around the property implementing rebranding plans to liven up the aging property. Inspirations came from the HBO show "Boardwalk Empire" portraying prohibition era Atlantic City.

Jersey Shore's Snooki Arrested in Italy for Cop Car Crash

The "Jersey Shore" gang is shooting its upcoming season in Florence, Italy, and it was there that Snooki had a run-in with the police. Snooki (Nicole Polizzi) was taken into custody in Florence yesterday when she crashed her car into a police car.

Sources connected with "Jersey Shore" say Zero alcohol was involved. No one in Snooki's car was injured, but two police officers in the car Snooki hit were taken to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for whiplash.

Delco SPCA says No More Strays

The Delaware County SPCA is getting out of the lost and found business as of July 1. This deadline was set last July when it announced that it would focus on programs that prevent animal cruelty and overpopulation and promote responsible pet ownership. Townships and boroughs that deposited as many as 2000 strays at the Media shelter last year will have to find other accommodations... and so far many of them do not have alternative plans in place yet. There's a brand new American Idol, and it's 17 year old Scotty McCreery from Garner, North Carolina. The other finalist, 16 year old Lauren Alaina is from Rossville, Ga. It's the first time that the finals have come down to two singers both rooted squarely in the country genre. It's the second time, after Jordin Sparks, that a 17-year-old has won. House Of Blues and a New Rock Club Coming To Philly

Two more live music venues may be opening in Philadelphia as soon as this Fall. A 'new rock' club targeting up and coming bands, Union Transfer promises to be an 800 patron capacity club located on Spring Garden Street at the former Spaghetti Warehouse. If all goes well with their Liquor Control Board application, the new rock club will open on the site in the fall.

Philly Republican Mayor Race leaning towards a Karen Brown win

It's been a week since the primary elections ended, and it seems that former school teacher Karen Brown will end up with the GOP nomination for mayor to run against incumbent Democrat Michael Nutter.

She holds a very tight 58 vote lead over John Featherman after city officials completed the latest tally of votes that included absentee ballots. Around 16,500 votes were cast in the GOP primary.

His blown prediction and continued predictions are a real embarrassment to many in the Christian radio community, who are not saying much.
