A condominium complex in Delaware County is on fire this evening. Fire erupted at the Hilltop Condominiums on the 5200 block of Hilltop Drive in Brookhaven around 6 p.m. Heavy flames shot from the roof of the three-story building. Residents were evacuated, but some may have been trapped on the upper floors. The Red Cross is responding to help the evacuees on this frigid night.

| Firefighters spent Christmas night battling a fire in Sussex County, Delaware. The fire broke out at around 7:30 pm on Monday in Slaughter Beach on Bay Avenue and Bench Road. Crews say that the fire spread to several other homes on the block. Firefighters say that the fire reached 4-alarms and was still blazing well into the late night hours of Monday. | A man was shot to death in the Kensington section after doing a good deed for a neighbor. 26-year-old Elliot Cortez was closing up his shop on 2nd and Westmoreland streets in Kensington. Cortez then helped a nearby store owner lower the gate to his store when two men approached him. The suspects tried to rob Cortez but this is when police say an altercation ensued. | A police officer in Cumberland County, South Jersey was treated for minor injuries after someone opened fire on his patrol car on Saturday evening. It happened on the 300 block of East Vine Street in Millville. A round hit both the driver side and passenger side front windows shattering both. | Thousands of shoppers were evacuated from the Springfield Mall in Delaware County on 'Super Saturday' due to a grease fire at a pizza restaurant inside the mall. It happened after 3 p.m. at the large shopping mall on Baltimore Pike in Springfield in the kitchen of Sbarro's in the food court.
