Jury Still Out in Clergy Case, James Earl Jones Honored, Sandusky Trial No Tweets and No Pseudonyms

Jurors in the Clergy abuse case deliberated for a full five hours today without conclusion. Today was their first full day of deliberations after first meeting alone Friday afternoon. They sent several requests back to the court room clarifying charges such as the elements of attempted rape and the people who needed to be involved in endangerment or conspiracy. In case you were wondering or preparing for the worst, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has said that flesh-easting living dead do not exist. "CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms)," said agency spokesman David Daigle.

Neshaminy School District Strike, Clergy Abuse Case, PA Final Budget and Privatize Liquor

Teachers in Neshaminy School District are on strike for the second time this school year. The strike can only last 10 days so the school year can’t extend beyond June 30th. However, seniors were scheduled to start exams today. They will be exempt from finals because of the strike and graduate on schedule.

Pope Benedict XVI is planning to come to Philadelphia in 2015 for a world families conference. Archbishop Charles Chaput, made an unscheduled overseas trip to receive the news directly from the pope that he had selected Philadelphia as the first American city to be the stage for the event which is held by the church every three years. Pope John Paul II, who commissioned the World Families event some years ago, was the last pope to visit Philadelphia in 1979.

Chase Utley Makes A Move, Heads to Florida For Extended Spring Training, No Timetable for Return

The year long mystery surrounding the status of Chase Utley got a little clearer this afternoon. Utley is going to head to Clearwater and start to play in extended spring training games. He could play as soon as Monday, probably as DH for a while before taking the field. There are extended spring training games Monday-Wed. and next week June 12-14. He can start an official rehab stint at anytime, and has 20 days to return to the Phillies when he does (unless suffering a set back).

Pope Benedict XVI is planning to come to Philadelphia in 2015 for a world families conference. The Pope announced these plans Sunday at the close of a world families conference in Milan. Archbishop Charles Chaput made a trip to Rome to receive the news from the Pope.

The Phillies seem to be plagued by injuries these days, with a lot of unknowns, and with no end in sight for the biggest injured names of them all.

Roy Halladay is still going to be out 6-8 weeks. He received a second opinion from the Mets' physician this week but is waiting for the results.

Victorino received a Cortisone shot in his hand, sat out yesterday, but is back in the lineup today.
