Florida Mail In Gun Permits Growing in Philadelphia

Mail order gun permits from Florida, where the rules are less stringent, are growing in popularity in Philadelphia.

Pennsylvania and Florida have a reciprocal agreement to respect each other's gun licenses, and local police are compelled to honor these permits, despite any opposition they may have due to a person’s character or background info.

Leaders of the Kimmel Center and Local 8 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees signed a deal over the weekend putting a strike on weeklong hiatus.

The main push for a week of labor peace is that it gives the Opera Company of Philadelphia a chance to complete at least most of its run of Carmen - a strong seller that the opera says is as important to its finances as The Nutcracker is to ballet troupes.

Philadelphia radio station WHAT-AM 1340 has changed its programming to a Spanish language music format. Since August 1st, the station has been silent prompting listeners to wonder what happened to the music on WHAT.

Usually Philadelphia sports fans are labeled with the ugliest behavior. However, in London, Ontario Canada where the Flyers played the Red Wings on Thursday night a fan threw a banana onto the ice at Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds who is black - one of the few black players in the NHL.

The producers of TV' Jersey Shore, 495 Productions, was expecting to get a $420K tax credit in exchange for producing the show in the state of New Jersey back in 2009. However, legislators from both parties have balked at paying it, and now Republican Governor Chris Christie has officially withdrawn the commitment.

Philadelphia Eagles Michael Vick is listed as day-to-day with a bruised hand, Andy Reid said Monday.

Initial reports said Vick suffered a broken right hand, but Reid indicated a blood vessel in an early scan made it look as if there was a fracture.

Michael Vick thinks he is being hit late every week by opponents, but that referees are not calling penalties when they are warranted.
