Flyers win Atlantic Division title, head to playoffs against Sabres

The Flyers have won the Atlantic Division for the first time in seven years, and are the second seed in the East going into the playoffs after today's 7-4 win over the Islanders to close out the season. They'll meet the Buffalo Sabres in the first round starting Thursday.

Remember the Holy Family college basketball player who made headlines because his coach knocked him over during a practice drill? Well Matthew Kravchuck was arrested at a Phillies game for stealing two beers from a concession stand and now faces felony charges because of his prior offenses. After the basketball incident, Kravchuk played victim. And his refusal to accept the coach's apology on national TV led to his resignation. Is Kravchuk a victim again? Philadelphia Students Rally Against School Budget Cuts

About 300 people, primarily high school students, rallied outside School District headquarters and marched to City Hall to protest against expected education budget cuts and to demand arts and music programs are saved.

Mayor Nutter is promising action on school violence after The Inquirer published an investigative series that described brutal attacks in classrooms.
Legislators from around the state have called for change in the aftermath of The Inquirer's series which found there were more than 30,000 serious incidents in the schools during the last five years, attacks were carried out by children in the earliest of grades, and that violence often was not reported or reported late.
