A SEPTA transit police officer stopped an attempted robbery on the Market-Frankford Line this past week in Kensington and it was caught on video. It happened on Wednesday, 4/3, just before 8 p.m. at the Huntingdon station. As the train came to a stop, the suspect grabbed the phone out of a 17-year-old high school student's hand and ran out of the opening doors. An insurance agency representing Bill Cosby has agreed to settle lawsuits filed by seven women who claim the entertainer defamed them by accusing them of lying about sexual misconduct allegations. The terms of the agreement are confidential. Cosby's spokesperson says that AIG went ahead with the settlement without the 81-year-old's knowledge or consent. The City of Philadelphia has launched its own official municipal identification card. This new government-issued photo ID is called the PHL City ID. It is intended for city residents that do not have access to or a prevented from obtaining other forms of state identification such as a driver's license. A funeral was held today, 4/4, for Nicholas Flacco, the son of Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Chris Flacco, who was shot and killed last weekend in FDR Park. Services were held at St. Albert the Great Church in Lower Moreland at noon. Nick had returned home from Penn State University for the weekend to celebrate his 20th birthday with family and friends. Philadelphia Police identified a suspect on Wednesday afternoon, 4/3, wanted in the murder of 20-year-old Nick Flacco. Police are searching for 19-year-old Tyquan 'Fats' Atkinson. His last known address is on the 1600 block of South 32nd Street. The first four members of Penn State's former Beta Theta Pi fraternity were sentenced Wednesday, 4/3, in the hazing death of Timothy Piazza.

20-year-old Joshua Kurczewski from Erie, pleaded guilty in January to one count of conspiracy to commit hazing, one count of hazing and one count of furnishing liquor to a minor. National Park Service officials announced that beginning on Tuesday, April 2nd, they will be conducting a controlled burn at Valley Forge National Historical Park. The burns could take from two days to one week to complete. The burn will total 135 acres in two distinct meadows in the Grand Parade area near Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and Gulph Road. Abington Police have arrested a man for impersonating an officer in Montgomery County on March 25th. It happened at 10 p.m. on the 1100 block of Colonial Avenue in the Roslyn section of Abington. 42-year-old Dennis McGowen pulled over a vehicle using flashing white and blue lights on his SUV.
