An eighth grade student died Wednesday afternoon after collapsing during gym class, at Harrington Middle School in Mount Laurel, NJ. The student collapsed during routine activity and the school’s crisis team immediately responded, followed by police and EMTs. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Yesterday a federal judge lifted the ban on gay marriage in Pennsylvania opening the flood-gates for same-sex couples to get marriage licenses. Judge John E. Jones said the plaintiffs in the case were courageous for challenging the constitutionality of the gay marriage ban in place since 1996.

Philadelphia police believe a man killed in a car crash this morning may have been a suspect in an overnight rape in the city. The vehicle was travelling at high speed in Kensington on Boudinot Street, failed to negotiate a turn and slammed into a fence. The driver died on impact. Chipotle is asking customers not to bring firearms into its stores after it says gun rights advocates brought military-style assault rifles into one of its restaurants in Texas.
