Philadelphia SVU investigators are looking for man who raped a teenage girl in North Philly last week. Police say the teen was stopped at a red light in the Olney section when the man jumped into her car and pointed a gun at her. He then made her drive to an isolated area of the 5900 block of N 21st Street before pulling her from car and raping her. He fled northbound on 21st street. If the government shuts down, the mail will continue to be delivered and airports will continue to function. However national parks will close. That includes the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall in Philadelphia, the Smithsonian, the Statue of Liberty, Alcatraz and the Washington Monument. Police are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday night in the Hunting Park section of the city on the 500 block of Rising Sun Avenue. One man was shot in the chest. A second man suffered a graze wound and is listed in stable condition. Both victims were taken to Temple Hospital.

A 19-year-old woman was injured today in a building collapse in North Philadelphia. She was trapped after a two-story garage collapsed at 12th Street and Lehigh Avenue. She was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment. The building collapsed after a car making a turn at the intersection lost control and crashed into the empty garage causing the front to crumble. There were four in the car all of whom were transported to Temple University Hospital.

A fire erupted at a historic firehouse in Old City Philadelphia around lunchtime. The fire started before noon at the firehouse located at 4th and Arch Streets in Old City. Firefighters were able to respond quickly to the blaze at their own house but not before it caused significant damage to the doors and interior rafters. There have been two teenage deaths related to the drug, heroin within a week and police in Runnemede are seeing kids starting younger and younger on this dangerous, powerful drug. Chief of Police Paul Dailey sees kids starting in 9th, 10th and 11th grade. In the first week and a half of school at Triton High, a 16 and 18 year old died and a third student overdosed but survived.

Police in Delaware have cancelled an Amber Alert for a potential child abduction. The alert was issued on Tuesday evening after a report of a possible kidnapping by a witness near Albion Drive and Elliot Street in the Whispering Pines community of Newark, DE. Police have not received a missing child report and they canvased the area and have not found anything. New Castle County Detectives announced that although they were canceling the alert they will continue to investigate.

A retired Philadelphia firefighter shot and killed his wife then turned the gun on himself. Sixty six year old Henry Yip called 911 and told the operator he had just killed his wife, 54 year old Vicki Yip and was planning to take his own life. Police tried unsuccessfully to coax Yip out of the house.

Philadelphia police say a 26-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Kingsessing Wednesday night. Police say the victim was shot three times in the arm and chest. He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was later pronounced dead. There is no word on a suspect or motive at this time.
