Nearly four months after his child sex abuse conviction in a case that rocked Penn State, former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was sentenced to no less than 30 years and no more than 60 years in prison Tuesday. He was given credit for 112 days of time served and must pay the cost of prosecution and $1,706 in restitution. The sentence essentially guarantees that Sandusky will spend the rest of his life in prison.

The teenage girl who was mocked and ridiculed in front class by her geometry teacher for wearing a Romney-Ryan t-shirt returned to Charles Carol High School today. A rally showing support for Samantha Pawlucy took place outside the school around 7:45 with singing of the National Anthem and readings from the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Samantha Pawlucy returned to school this morning among a large throng of supporters. The high school sophomore was ridiculed by a teacher 2 weeks ago for wearing a Mitt Romney for President t-shirt to school. Veterans groups and other supporters say she had her first amendment rights trampled. The Philadelphia School District calls the incident "Disruptive and hurtful."

Before Sandusky is sentenced, there will be a hearing on whether, under Pennsylvania's "Megan's Law," Sandusky should be designated a sexually violent predator. Jerry Sandusky has spoken out on the eve of his sentencing hearing despite not taking the stand in his defense at trial and having the opportunity to do so tomorrow. Sandusky will be sentenced tomorrow on the 45 guilty counts related to the child sex abuse case that has riled State College. Police have released the identity of the one man arrested in connection to Sunday's early morning wedding brawl at the Sheraton hotel bar in Society Hill. 26-year-old Matthew Sofka, of Westfield, New Jersey (pictured below), has been charged with assault on police, inciting a riot and related offenses for his alleged role in the brawl. A clash between wedding parties in Society Hill ended with one man dead and several in jail. The fight started between two brothers in the lobby of the Sheraton about 2 am Sunday and according to wedding guests a thrown object struck someone else and mayhem ensued. The 57 year old uncle of one of the brides suffered a heart attack and died. Several wedding guests ended up in the emergency room and three in jail.

Philadelphia police say one woman is dead and her son is in critical condition after a double shooting Sunday night in Northern Liberties. Police are investigating the incident that happened inside a private home on the 700 block of North 3rd Street. The woman in her 60's was reportedly shot in the chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The 40-year-old male victim was shot in the face and is being treated at Hahnemann University Hospital.
