SEPTA does not plan to run extra trains after the Parkway concerts this weekend. They will add a few extra cars to the the Regional Rail trains, but don't necessarily rely on them to get home. They'll be running on their reduced weekend schedule and that means reduced capacity and some line's last trains departing around 11 pm. The City has been telling people to take public transport, but that won't help people trying to go home to the suburbs on the rails unless they leave the concerts early.... Read More |

Charges have been filed against the second suspect in the last week's murder of Officer Moses Walker Jr. Chancier McFarland, 19, was arrested in Alabama on Sunday and transported to Philadelphia on Monday. Word of McFarland's surrender to the FBI in Montgomery, AL, reached mourners on Sunday just as Officer Walker's viewing services were starting. McFarland is charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy, and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.

The second suspect in the murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Moses Walker Junior is now back in Philadelphia. After Walker's funeral and burial Monday, 19 year old Chancier McFarland was brought back to Philadelphia from Alabama, where he surrendered to the FBI. He was immediately taken in for processing and is expected to face murder charges.

Police in Delaware County are searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted sexual assault inside an apartment August 25th in Radnor. The female victim heard knocking on her interior bedroom door. As she opened her door, she was knocked to the floor by a suspect who was naked from the waist down. Hundreds honored Police Officer Moses Walker Jr. today and yesterday during memorial services for the slain policeman at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in North Philadelphia. Yesterday a horse-drawn procession led his body to the church so that mourners from across the city could pay solemn respects. A police officer in Chalfont, Bucks County has been shot and there is a manhunt underway for the shooter. Between 3 and 3:30 this morning, Officer Jon Cousin was on routine patrol when he saw a car parked in the lot of the Lenape Valley Swim Club.The operator of the suspicious vehicle rushed him while the passenger got out of the vehicle and took one shot. Officer Cousin was struck in the chest. He was wearing a vest. He was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, where he is in good condition.Read More |

Philadelphia homicide detectives said on Sunday the second suspect in the murder of Officer Moses Walker, Jr. is in police custody in Montgomery, Alabama. 19-year-old Chancier McFarland, turned himself in to federal authorities after he had been on the run since the August 18th shooting in which Officer Walker was gunned down. Police now have in custody both suspects in the murder of Officer Walker. Police locked up his alleged accomplice, 23-year-old Rafael Jones, on Wednesday.

The second suspect in Officer Moses Walker Jr.'s murder is in custody. Chancier McFarland, 19, has been sought by police since Walker's murder a week ago, but he is currently in police custody in Montgomery, AL, after being on the run. His criminal partner, Rafael Jones, has been in custody since Wednesday. Jones has apparently confessed to his involvement in the early morning, August 18th murder and robbery of the off duty Police Officer. He was charged and arraigned on Friday.

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, passed away today at the age of 82 a few weeks after heart surgery. He stepped onto the moon with the words "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" on July 20th 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission.
Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio in 1930. He studied aerospace engineering at Purdue University but was called up to the Navy before he could finish his degree (he eventually returned and graduated in 1955).... Read More |
