The Philadelphia School District announced on Tuesday, 11/10, that schools will remain 100% virtual until further notice. Cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have been sharply rising in the city and state. The district had planned to start to return to hybrid learning on November 30 with grades Pre-K to 2. Other grades were scheduled to return sometime next year. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health recommended on Monday, 11/9, that anyone that has been around a large crowd of people recently should quarantine for 14 days. That would include residents who took part in post-election protests and/or celebrations, whether they were wearing a mask or not.

Joe Biden Wins, Will Become 46th President of United States; Wins Pennsylvania, Nevada

According to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News, and the AP, Joe Biden has won Nevada and Pennsylvania. That puts him over 270 votes needed to win the Electoral College and become the 46th President of the United States. Senator Kamala Harris will become the first woman, Black, and South Asian American to become Vice President. States are still counting votes, including Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia Police arrested two heavily armed men in Center City on Thursday night, 11/5, and are investigating a possible plot to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Center where ballot counting is underway. It was a peaceful, yet exuberant day as supporters for both parties gathered outside the Pennsylvania Convention Center all day and into Thursday night, 11/5. Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon ruled in favor of the Trump campaign and ordered that poll watchers be allowed greater access to observe ballot counting inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The campaign filed a lawsuit on Wednesday seeking greater 'transparency' in the process.

President Donald Trump's campaign is suing both Pennsylvania and Michigan seeking to stop ballot counting until there is greater 'transparency' in the counting process and their poll watchers receive greater access to monitor the process. Philadelphia City Commissioner Lisa Deeley told reporters on Tuesday night, 11/3, that election officials have counted and reported around 76,000 mail-in ballots out of 350,000. They will not be reporting anymore results from mail-in ballots until Wednesday morning. They will be working 24 hours a day until all ballots are counted. The counting of mail-in and absentee ballots began at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, 11/3, Election Day. Philadelphia's election operations are located at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Voters in Philadelphia requested 425,000 mail-in ballots for the general election and officials estimate they'll get back around 350,000 to process.
