Hersheypark Coaster Stuck, Vineland School Asbestos, Chester Child Shot

A roller coaster somehow got stuck at Hersheypark, and riders had to be evacuated from the structure, marking the second time a coaster has stopped working at the park in less than a week. Hersheypark officials say The Sidewinder "experienced a stoppage" at 3:30 p.m. Monday, and workers escorted all 27 riders safely off it. US swimmer Ryan Lochte has begun to feel the fallout from the controversy in Rio involving a late night incident at a gas station. Speedo announced today that they will be ending its longtime sponsorship of Lochte. List of Philadelphia Area Grocery Stores Now Selling Wine Expands

Philadelphia area retailers have moved quickly to capitalize on the new liquor reform laws recently passed in Pennsylvania. The new law, effective August. 8, means approved grocery stores, restaurants and hotels can now sell up to four bottles of wine per customer for takeout. The day the law went into effect, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board began accepting requests for various new licenses and permits allowed under the new legislation. Officials speaking on the condition of anonymity told the Associated Press that some pills discovered inside Prince's Paisley Park estate were mislabeled and actually contained a significantly more powerful drug. The autopsy results released in June state that Prince died of an accidental fentanyl overdose. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid 50 times more powerful than heroin. A missing Penn State professor has been found dead. His body was discovered at the bottom of a quarry and he had apparently been pushed. 56-year-old Ronald Bettig, an associate professor of media studies, had not been seen since August 12th. Penn State police launched an investigation and transferred it to State Police this week. Firefighters had to rescue passengers aboard two NJ Transit buses that collided in Newark, New Jersey this morning. One person has died, seven others have been injured. One of the busses t-boned the other, killing one of the bus drivers as one bus ended up on its side.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has nominated former First Deputy Attorney General Bruce Beemer for temporary Attorney General. He would replace former Solicitor General Bruce Castor who was sworn into office as acting Attorney General. Beemer testified against the convicted Kathleen Kane who resigned yesterday.
