Several suspicious packages containing suspected bombs were intercepted by authorities on Wednesday, 10/24, after being sent to prominent Democratic political figures as well as a media outlet and a liberal donor. Former Allentown mayor Ed Pawlowski has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on a federal corruption conviction. 53-year-old Pawlowski was found guilty of dozens of corruption charges back in March. He was accused of trading city contracts for campaign contributions. Prosecutors had asked for a sentence of at least 13 years. Authorities are searching for a former Bucks County youth football coach who failed to appear in court on Monday morning on child sexual assault charges. 48-year-old Shannon Westmoreland of West Chester is charged with Rape, Rape of a Child under Age of 13, Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault of a Child and other related offenses. Police were at the Springfield Mall in Delaware County after there were reports of gunfire early Saturday afternoon, 10/20. It happened in a parking lot near Baltimore Pike around 1 p.m. Two groups of males had been arguing inside the mall and took the altercation outside. That is when several shots were fired. A woman has now been charged with the murder of a toddler found partially buried in a North Philadelphia park earlier this week. 33-year-old Nyishia Corbitt was arrested in connection with the death of 1-year-old Alina Barnes. Corbitt was charged with murder, possession of an instrument of a crime, false reports, tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, and abuse of a corpse.
