CDC To Track Travelers from West Africa; NBA Votes Against Lottery Reform; Arrest in NJ Toe-Squeezer

The CDC announced today that it will start tracking everyone entering the U.S. from Ebola-stricken nations. Those people will be monitored for symptoms of the disease for 21 days. This includes American aid workers, federal health employees and journalists, and West African visitors. 70% of people that arrive from Liberia, Sierra Leone and New Guinea enter in one of six states including Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Tim Hauser, founder of internationally acclaimed recording group, Manhattan Transfer passed away suddenly on October 16, 2014. Tim Hauser was forever connected to Philadelphia via Villanova University during his college days here from 1959 to 1963. Very special friend of iRadioPhilly and Tim Hauser, Paula Iacovelli Wholey remembers the man and his career.

She is the youngest person to receive Philadelphia's Liberty Medal and the Nobel. Yesterday, 17 year old Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai (pictured-Inquirer), the girl who stood up against the Taliban, received the Liberty Medal at the National Constitution Center. WoofTrax Dog Walking App, Corbett Dropped From NCAA Lawsuit, Pocono Schools Open Today

Take your dog for a walk, and help other dogs with every step. Dog owners have been downloading the FREE new app and it tracks their walk. The FREE app is called "WoofTrax – Walk for a Dog." The more you use it, the more money goes to an animal shelter or rescue group of your choice. WoofTrax donates money it gets from sponsors and advertisements. It tracks usage by how many walks you take, not by distance. So far, the app has donated $10,000 to shelters nationwide.

Colleges and universities in the Philadelphia are preparing for the possibility of an Ebola outbreak. Health centers of campuses across the region, including the University of Pennsylvania, are training their health center workers to monitor any arriving international students. Dirt Biker Ride After Kyrell Tyler Funeral; $5000 Reward Chickies Robbery; PHL Live Start Tonight

The funeral was held today at Broad and Lombard for popular dirt bike rider Kyrell Tyler also known as Dirt Bike Rell. Tyler was found shot to death last Wednesday, October 15th in Southwest Philadelphia. Police are still investigating his murder. Tyler was a talented rider both on the street and in the arena. Frein Sighting Closes Schools; Pot Decriminalization Begins; Main Line Drug Ring

In the Poconos, schools are closed today as police shift their search after another reported sighting of the suspect in a deadly state police ambush. Police reported seeing suspect Eric Frein near the Swiftwater Post Office in the Pocono Mountains, leading to an intensive police search. The post office is near Pocono Mountain East High School, where he was spotted Friday night. Frein has remained on the loose for more than a month despite the intense manhunt.
