A young woman was shot and killed by stray gunfire while in a bar on Tuesday night, 6/28, when a disgruntled patron opened fire from the outside of the establishment after being escorted out by a bouncer. It happened around 11:30 p.m. at Philly Bar & Restaurant on the 2400 block of Welsh Road in the Bustleton section. The Philadelphia Folksong Society has announced the daily lineups for this year's 60th Philadelphia Folk Festival! Officials in Philadelphia have ruled that the fire and building collapse that killed Philadelphia Fire Lt. Sean Williamson was an arson. Police have a suspect in custody. Al-Ashraf Khalil is the owner of the 3-story building. He is charged with maliciously damaging a building by means of fire, lying to federal agents concerning his whereabouts at the time of the fire, and aiding and abetting. A funeral was held on Monday, 6/27, for fallen Philadelphia firefighter Lt. Sean Williamson. 51-year-old Williamson was killed in action while fighting a fire at a pizzeria and residences on the 300 block of Indiana Avenue in the Fairhill neighborhood. The Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe vs Wade on Friday morning, determining there is no federal constitutional right to abortion. The decision came as part of the court's ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. The court ruled 6-3 to uphold the Mississippi law at the heart of the case and 5-4 to overrule Roe. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of East Tioga Street. 36-year-old Alyssa Morales aka Bre is in a medically induced coma in the burn unit at Temple University Hospital.
