Vigil for Carjack Crash Victims, Temple Makes Test Scores Optional, No Bail for Carjackers

A vigil is planned tonight for the three children killed in the carjacking hit and run last week. The event will take place at 6 this evening at Germantown and Allegheny Avenues in North Philadelphia. The mother of the children Keisha Williams remains hospitalized in critical condition. According to her family, Williams is in a medically induced coma and does not know her children have died.

A man is dead after crashing his car into the Delaware River at Penn's Landing Monday night. The black Volkswagon SUV rear-ended another vehicle at 4th and Arch Streets, and was trying to get away from the scene. Battalion Chief Robert Clark of the Philadelphia Fire Department explained, as the vehicle came down the ramp from Chestnut Street to Penn’s Landing, the car went out of control. Car Plunged into Delaware River near Penns Landing; Male Driver Dies from Accident

A car plunged into the Delaware River just before 6 pm this evening. It happened along Columbus Blvd between Market and Chestnut near the Pier 3 condos. Philadelphia Firefighters and Marine Unit were on scene assisting in the rescue. Police say a 36-year-old male drove a black VW into the water. He was pulled out of the river and taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Philadelphia Police have now identified the two men in connection with the deadly carjacking and crash that killed 3 children and critically injured 2 adults. 19-year-old Jonathan Rosa and 22-year-old Cornelius Crawford were in police custody on Sunday. They have been charged with 3 counts of 2nd-degree murder, robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, sexual assault and related offenses. Philadelphia police have suspects in custody in connection with the carjacking that killed three children and injured several others on Friday. Two men carjacked a real estate agent's SUV at gunpoint then crashed it into a crowd including Keisha Williams and her three children - 15, 10 and 7 years old. All three children died. The mother is in critical condition.

Police say they have two persons of interest in custody in connection with a deadly carjacking and hit-and-run crash that killed three children in North Philadelphia. Police were questioning two people about the incident at police headquarters. There was no initial word on any charges and the identities of the two people in custody were not immediately released.
