Philadelphia may get a chance to see some of Mother Nature's own spectacular fireworks late tonight/early tomorrow morning when a newly discovered meteor shower lights up the skies just in time to kick off Memorial Day Weekend. Same-sex marriages begin today in Pennsylvania. The three day wait period since the ban was lifted makes today the big day for hundreds of couples who raced for marriage licenses as soon as the ruling came down. At one minute after midnight on the steps of the Art Museum, Philadelphia's first same sex wedding took place. Lindsay Vandermay and Ashley Wilson, (pictured) said, "I do" and were pronounced wife and wife.

Adoptees in New Jersey are a step closer to getting access to their birth records. The state Assembly on Thursday voted to approve a conditional veto settlement that was brokered by Gov. Chris Christie and lawmakers that would open the records for the first time since they were sealed in 1940. The compromise delays access for nearly three years to give birth parents time to have their names removed from birth certificates.
Birth parents of children adopted before Aug. 1, 2015 would... Read More

Severe thunderstorms pounded the area this afternoon. Frequent lighting and golf-ball sized hail stones caused widespread damage. Hail shattered car windows and windshields as well as some skylights at local malls, especially up in Berks County near Reading. Storms left the ground covered in hail 1-2” in diameter in some cases as if it snowed. There were also reports of a possible tornado in Kent County, Delaware.
