Katz Memorial Service/Speakers Set; I-495 Bridge Closed Indefinitely; Swift Donates $50k to CHOP |

The speakers and program for tomorrow's memorial service for businessman Lewis Katz have been announced. Former President Bill Clinton, Ed Snider, Mayor Nutter, Gov. Corbett, Sen. Cory Booker, and others are expected to speak. Katz was killed on Sunday with 6 others in a private plane crash in Massachusetts. The service will be held at 11 am at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Temple University.

Route 495 Bridge Closed, Black Boxes Sent to Washington, NJ Primary Election |

The bridge over the Christina River on Route 495 around Wilmington is closed while DelDOT analyzes the problem. There is a structural issue that is causing the bridge to tilt. About 90,000 cars use 495 around Wilmington daily. The bridge and that stretch of 495 will be closed indefinitely.

GSK, formerly Glaxo SmithKline, and the Philadelphia Foundation have announced a $5 million grant package available to non-profits which will lead to healthier lives. It's called the GSK IMPACT Grant. The Philadelphia Foundation is a public charity community foundation which manages more than 800 charitable funds. A woman was injured and a man found dead in an apparent failed murder suicide in Montgomery County this morning. The shootings took place around 10 a.m. at a home along the 2200 block of Harvard Drive in North Wales, Montgomery Township. Neighbors reported hearing two gun shots a few seconds apart. The co-owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Lewis Katz was killed with six others in a plane crash Saturday night in Massachusetts. His death comes just days after his successful buyout of the newspaper with partner Gerry Lenfest. The plane crashed during takeoff when it careened off the runway and burst into flames. Katz and the others on the plane were returning from an event at the home of Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.
