Customs and Border Protection arrested a woman at Philadelphia International Airport for smuggling cocaine inside her shoes. 25-year-old Iveliza Tuhanna Perez arrived on a flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica yesterday at 4:30. While officers were performing a baggage examination they noticed that three pairs of cork wedge high heels were abnormally heavy and x-rays showed anomalies in the heels. The girlfriend of Philadelphia Defense attorney A. Charles Peruto Jr. probably drowned after a seizure. That's what the Inquirer is saying according to their law enforcement sources. 26 year old Julia Law was found dead, floating face down in a bathtub. No drugs or alcohol were found at the scene. Toxicology reports are still pending.

One man is dead, and another man is hospitalized after a double shooting in North Philadelphia Wednesday night on the 1700 block of W. Cumberland Street. A 30-year-old man was shot twice in the head and once in the back. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital by police where he was later pronounced dead. Police say a 19-year-old man was shot in the left leg. He was also taken to Temple University Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

A male suspect is hospitalized after a police-involved shooting in Kingsessing on Wednesday. The incident happened at S. 53rd Street and Greenway Avenue. Philadelphia Police say officers responded to a call of a shooting when there was a confrontation with an armed suspect. Authorities say officers discharged their weapons. Interboro School District Superintendent John Cleghorn has stepped down from his job. Cleghorn was captured on video appearing to mouth obscenities at a public meeting broadcast on local TV. Residents in Burlington County have reported yet another bear sighting, this time in Moorestown. The black bear was seen at Strawbridge Lake between Nixon Drive and Haines Street on Tuesday morning. On Monday, the bear was spotted at about 11:30 a.m. near Route 38 and Church Street in Mt. Laurel. This incident marks the ninth bear sighting in the area in a week.
