West Norriton Township police are searching for two suspects wanted for allegedly abducting an elderly woman from a department store and robbing her at gunpoint in Montgomery County earlier this month. It happened on July 11 around 1 p.m. at a Marshall's store located at 540 S. Trooper Road. Fire broke out at the popular Melrose Diner in South Philadelphia during dinner time on Wednesday evening, 7/24. The landmark 24/7 restaurant is located at the crossroads of 15th, Snyder, and Passayunk. The fire started just before 6 p.m. near a vent. Employees tried to put it out with water until firefighters arrived. Everyone was evacuated. The fire was quickly contained. All charges against the Amtrak engineer at the helm of the deadly May 2015 crash have been dropped once again. Brandon Bostian had been charged with involuntary manslaughter of eight people and reckless endangerment of 246 injured, and one count of risking a catastrophe. A South Philadelphia teen that shot and killed two other 16-year-olds during a fight in October 2017 was sentenced Monday to 37 years to life in prison. Delaware State Police are investigating after an elderly man and woman were shot to death inside a nursing home in Wilmington on Saturday afternoon, 7/20. It happened at 1:12 p.m. at the ManorCare Health Service-Wilmington nursing home on the 700 block of Foulk Road. Philadelphia Police are asking the public's help in finding a bandit that robbed a gas station by cutting a hole in the roof on Wednesday morning, 7/17. It happened just after midnight at the Sunoco Station at 8019 Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill. The incident was caught on the store's surveillance video. Firefighters responded to a call of a fire in a trash chute high up in a 19-story residential high rise in West Philadelphia around 9:30 p.m.on Thursday night, 7/18. When they arrived, a man was scaling down the outside of the building, though it is unclear why he chose that way to escape the fire. He did make it down safely.
