The New Jersey Senate and General Assembly have approved a package of bills that includes a 23 cent per gallon raise in the state's gas tax. The bill now goes to Governor Chris Christie. The tax increase will help replenish the Transportation Trust Fund. The package also reduces sales and estate taxes and offers tax credits to veterans and low-income residents. The category 4 hurricane ripped through the island, damaging more than 28,000 homes, forcing citizens people to move into shelters. Speed Limit of NJ Transit Train, Two Injured in Turnpike Crash, Police Search for Robbery Suspect

Authorities have discovered the speed limit of the New Jersey Transit train that crashed into the Hoboken Station last week that left one woman dead and hundreds injured. The train was traveling at a speed of 8 mph then sped up for about 30 seconds before reaching 21 mph, which is double the speed limit for entering a station. Ride the Ducks, the amphibious sightseeing company, announced yesterday that were suspending their Philadelphia operation indefinitely. They cited rising insurance costs as the reason for their decision. The company base in Branson, MO, said in a statement, "Due to circumstances outside of our control including a 330% increase in our insurance premiums, continued operations in Philadelphia are not financially feasible at this time." Woman Killed In Kensington, Deadly Accident on I-295, Philly Legal Struggle for Uber and Lyft

Police say a woman was shot and killed Wednesday night in the West Kensington section of Philadelphia. The shooting happened around 7:30 pm on the 100 block of East Sterner Street. The victim was a 47-year-old woman, who was shot in the head, neck and shoulder. When Police arrived she was pronounced dead on the scene. The suspect fled the scene before the police arrived, but they say the woman was not the intended target.

A group of St. Joseph's University students were victims to a home invasion that happened a couple of blocks away from the University. The incident happened on Wednesday at 5 am on the 5600 block of Woodbine Avenue. Police say two armed men broke into the house, one had a knife and the other had a gun. The latest track on Hurricane Matthew has it hooking out to sea this weekend instead of heading up the East Coast to our area. Right now it is still a Category 4 hurricane and it is approaching the Bahamas. It will continue north-northwest and affect Florida at the beginning of the weekend before heading towards the Carolinas by Sunday night. It will have weakened to a Category 2 at this point. Police are now looking for a male and a female who were captured on video surveillance robbing a Family Clothing Store in South Philadelphia. The robbery took place on September 4th at around 12:20 pm. The suspects were caught putting several items of clothing into a backpack, as well as stealing boxes of headphones before leaving. Police are now searching for a man who is believed to be involved in a hit and run incident that happened in North Philadelphia. The hit and run happened last month outside of Carnell Elementary. Police say a 56-year-old crossing guard was helping a student cross the street, when a driver made a left turn almost hitting the child. The crossing guard had yelled at the driver as he passed.
