SEPTA will be hiring 60 unarmed security guards to help secure parts of the Market-Frankford Line. There has been a rise in attacks in stations along that line. Posting guards will hopefully quell some of that activity and provide a safer environment for SEPTA workers and customers. Guards will be in place in late March or early April. | A former Lehigh University student has been sentenced to seven to 20 years in state prison after he admitted to poisoning his roommate with a heavy metal in an attempt to kill him. 24-year-old Yukai Yang pled guilty to the attempted murder of Juwan Royal.
