A female caseworker was killed and a doctor injured this afternoon when a patient opened fire in the offices at Mercy Wellness Center in Delaware County. It happened at 2:00 pm across the street from Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital on Lansdowne Ave in Darby. A patient entered the psychiatric unit on the third floor and shot and killed his case worker. Radnor Police have arrested a McDonald's employee for selling drugs in the parking lot. Allen Trammell is a 29 year old food prep service worker at the McDonald's on Lancaster Avenue in Wayne, PA. He was busted Tuesday night for selling crack cocaine to undercover officers in the back parking lot. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

More than 630 Palestinians and about 35 Israelis have died in the conflict in Gaza, and today protesters for both sides rallied in Center City in an effort to raise support for their efforts. Mayor Michael Nutter announced today that New Jersey singer Jon Bon Jovi would be the 2014 recipient of the Marian Anderson Award. The Sheraton in Center City was evacuated early this morning because of smoke in the basement. About 4am the fire department was called to the scene and about 1,000 people had to get out of bed and onto the streets outside the 26 story hotel. The origin of the smoke was an electrical panel in the HVAC system. After about 4 hours outside, guests were allowed to return to their rooms.

Three Atlantic City-area lawmakers want state casino regulators to force the Showboat and Trump Plaza casinos to remain open at least four more months to let prospective buyers kick the tires. Pennsylvania SPCA officers rescued a dog who was choking and tied to a fence in North Philadelphia on Tuesday. The brown and white pitbull was tied using a short cable and electrical tape to a chain link fence surrounding the tennis courts in Awbury Park. The officers have renamed the dog Venus and it is being treated at the PSPCA's Shelter Hospital. A casino robbery in Atlantic City saw two masked gunmen make off with more than $180,000 in cash. It happened Monday morning at Caesars Atlantic City. Sources say the suspects fled in a car with two plastic cash boxes containing the cash. The State Police Casino Gaming Bureau is handling the investigation.

Two men have been arrested for the deaths of an elderly couple found murdered Thursday morning in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. Investigators say that 26-year-old Terry Ballard and 19-year-old Justen Smith have confessed to suffocating the couple.
