Philadelphia is considering raising money by selling advertising on school busses and other school property. City Council is in favor of the motion as a step toward long-term sustainability for the financially strapped Philadelphia school system. Critics say that children are already exposed to too much advertising.

Philadelphia Eagles' wide-receiver DeSean Jackson was joined by teammates Michael Vick, Kurt Coleman, John Dorenbos, Zach Ertz, and many more Tuesday evening, as they took 50 kids on a $100 shopping spree at the Wal-Mart on South Columbus Boulevard. The 'Shop with a Jock' event paired players with more than 40 kids from Youth Services and local families in need. A woman was caught stealing toys from a Toys for Tots donation bin in a Bucks County restaurant. It happened in a Wings-to-Go in Fairless Hills, PA. The entire incident was caught on surveillance tape. It shows the woman walking up the the bin located in the front of the shop, reaching in and then walking out. The train derailed in New York this week killing four and injuring dozens more, was speeding as it rounded a curve and left the tracks. The National Transportation Safety Board has determined the train went into the 30 mile per hour curve at 82 miles per hour. Just before the train derailed, the brakes were applied but not in time. The NTSB is interviewing the crew to learn why the train was going so fast.

A former Philadelphia Police Officer has been found guilty of giving his drug-dealing half-brother all the details of an ongoing federal investigation. Prosecutors say former officer Rafael Cordero told his half-brother David Garcia, a former criminal informant, about a video-surveillance camera that federal agents installed in a garage used to store drugs, guns and money. Prosecutors say Cordero will face about 10 years behind bars at sentencing.

A Levittown, Bucks County man was sentenced today to 10-20 years in prison, plus 10 years probation for a wrong-way DUI crash last year on I-95 that killed a motorcycle police officer on his way home from his shift. Officer Brian Lorenzo was driving his service motorcycle when he was struck and killed killed by John Leck Jr. going the wrong way on 95. Leck's blood alcohol was 2 ½ times the legal limit at the time of the crash.

A brawl broke out in the middle of the night during Black Friday Shopping at Franklin Mills Mall in Northeast Philadelphia. It happened while the mall was crowded with shoppers looking for deals. The fight occurred around 2:30 AM involving two couple. It started with exchanging words but escalated to fists. At one point when the women were fighting a stun gun was pulled out and fired. Security eventually came and broke it up.

Edgmont Golf Club has filed for bankruptcy. The club property stretches into parts of both Chester and Delaware Counties. In court documents, Edgmont claims assets of $149,000 and liabilities of over $2.5 million including $250,000 in county, township and school district taxes for 2012 and 2013.
