25-year-old Blake Bills was sentenced today in a Philadelphia courtroom to 2 ½ to 10 years in prison for his actions in a highly publicized rampage back in March 2013. It involved his fiance, Shayna Sykes, two stolen police cars and a high-speed chase between New Jersey and Philadelphia. The nor'easter that moved into our area last night dumped a lot of rain causing flooding on the roads and a deadly crash on the Schuylkill Expressway this morning. A meningitis vaccine not yet licensed for use in the U.S. will be made available to nearly 6,000 students starting Dec. 9 at Princeton University. The former chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party has been arrested for allegedly drugging a female employee from his law firm and raping her while she was unconscious. Robert Kerns faces 19 criminal counts, including charges of rape, sexual assault, tampering with evidence, and lying to authorities. The incident happened Oct. 25 after an after-work party. Mayor Nutter was joined by Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey Monday night, as they discussed the "Knockout Game". The Mayor says that anyone caught taking part in the "knockout game" will face charges ranging from aggravated assault up to third degree murder. A Philadelphia grand jury has indicted Griffin Campbell, the owner of the company in charge of the demolition of the building near 22nd and Market Streets that collapsed on the adjacent Salvation Army thrift store. That building collapse last June killed six people and injured more than a dozen others. A police officer was injured in a crash that may have involved a drunk driver. Lower Southampton Township police are saying a female Bensalem police officer was injured when her car was rammed by a van last night. The van driver, a woman in her 50’s was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving. The officer is being treated for back and neck pain.

A retired Philadelphia judge was found dead this morning after a fire at his South Philadelphia home. The body of 86-year-old Anthony Defino was pulled from his house at 20th and Porter Streets. The fire started in the first floor before quickly moving to the second and third floor. Crews were called to the home around 7:00 am and hade the fire under control within a half hour but it was too late for the judge. Police are investigating the robbery of an elderly woman in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia Sunday morning at 24th and Dickinson Streets near a church. Police say the women had her purse stolen, then was brought into the church to be taken care of. Police don’t have any suspects at this time.
