Many New Jersey beach towns will need beach replenishment funds following Superstorm Sandy. If legislation sponsored by state Senator Michael Doherty and state Senate President Steve Sweeney becomes law, storm damaged towns that accept federal replenishment funds must provide free beach access and public toilet facilities. Ashley Ryan Hareford, 20, Charged With Sex Crimes and Luring 13-year-old Radnor girl

Last Tuesday, 20-year-old Ashley Ryan Hareford of Grottoes, Virginia allegedly lured a 13-year-old Radnor, PA girl away from her home and took her on a bus to Washington, D.C. The two were stopped at Union Station by authorities after they received a tip from someone who saw them board the bus at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.

Mummer Warehouse Fire, SEAL Killed from PA, Nutter Pitches Obama Plan

A fire broke out this afternoon in South Philadelphia at the storage location for the Fralinger String Band. The four alarm blaze started about 2 this afternoon where Fralinger stores its props at 2nd and Wharton Streets. Dozens of firefighters were called in to bring the blaze under control. At least one injury was reported and a wall has collapsed during the fire, which is still under investigation.

Teresa Mastracola's Death Ruled Suicide, Body Found Missing in Ridley Creek State Park

The Delaware County medical examiner's office has ruled that Teresa Mastracola death was by suicide. The 44-year-old Millbourne woman had been missing for a week when her body was found in Ridley Creek State Park. The coronor’s report says Mastracola killed herself by inhaling helium causing asphyxiation.

Mastracola was last seen on December 3rd leaving her home on Milbourne Ave. She was an avid hiker and bicyclist who often frequented Ridley Creek State Park in Edgemont.... Read More

Ocean City Elderly Couple Found; Walnut St. Water Main; Philly Bike Share; Bucks County Teen Crash

This past weekend's water main break along the 1600 block of Walnut Street in Center City is still causing disruptions downtown indefinitely. The water main broke at around 4:30 Saturday afternoon and was fixed by Sunday morning, but the street is still shutdown and a large hole remains. PECO and the gas company PGW still need to determine if there was any damage to the infrastructure and make necessary repairs before the road can be repaved and opened. A week long search for a missing Delaware County woman has ended in tragedy. State police say a body found in Ridley Creek State Park Saturday has been identified as 44-year-old Teresa Mastracola of Milbourne, who was last seen on surveillance video leaving Delaware County Memorial Hospital, where she worked, on December 2nd.

Police have confirmed that the body found on Saturday at Ridley Creek State Park is that of missing Teresa Mastracola, a 44-year-old Millbourne, Delaware County woman. She was last seen on December 3rd leaving her Millbourne Ave home wearing scrubs. She works at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.

A mother of three from Paulsboro, NJ, is filing suit against Conrail, Norfolk Southern Railway Company and CSX Transportation. She says she is experiencing breathing problems because of the November 30th chemical spill that released vinyl chloride into the air and necessitated residential evacuations that lasted for a week. Water Main Break in Center City; Missing Delaware County Woman Teresa Mastracola

A large water main break shut down parts of the Center City shopping district late this afternoon. The Philadelphia Water Department is working on fixing that 12 inch main. It happened around 4 p.m. on the 1600 block of Walnut Street, PWD shut it down at 6 p.m. Around 25 properties have been affected including some businesses. The area surrounding the break has been closed to traffic. Walnut Street is closed from 15th to 17th and 16th Street is closed between Chancellor and Locust Streets.... Read More

Philly Bike Share Program (may be) Coming in 2014

Philadelphia can soon hope to see a Bike Share program like the successful programs in Washington, DC, Boston, and Minneapolis. The Nutter Administration plans to ask the Philadelphia City Council for $3 million to get a program with 650 bikes on the streets by early 2014. An additional 550 bikes would be added in 2015.
