| One of the Philadelphia Eagles all time greats passed away Thursday evening of pneumonia in Lancaster. Steve Van Buren was a member of the Eagles' 1948 and 1949 NFL championship teams. He was drafted in 1944 out of Louisiana State University and immediately made an impact. The bruising running back was the first Eagle to be inducted into the NFL Half of Fame in Canton, OH, in 1965. Authorities are investigating the cause of a four-alarm fire in Allentown that injured five firefighters Thursday morning. The fire quickly reached four-alarm status and damaged eight row homes, displacing several families. Five firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and dehydration. | Mark David Chapman has been denied parole for the 7th time after a hearing in front of a three member board on Wednesday. Chapman was sentenced in 1981 to 20 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Chapman shot and killed former Beatle John Lennon outside his New York Apartment building, the Dakota, in December 1980.
