A Philadelphia police officer was shot by a fleeing murder suspect this morning after attempting to serve an arrest warrant. The officer managed to return fire, striking and killing the suspect. It happened at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Riverside Drive in Northeast Philadelphia. Police are gathering evidence after two people used a bomb to blow up an ATM in Hunting Park. Surveillance video shows two people approach the machine at 6th and Luzerne streets and then running away. Seconds later the machine exploded sending pieces of it flying 100 feet away. Fortunately, no one was injured and police report that no money was missing from the device.

Philadelphia's own Kurt Vile has released the video for the first track off his upcoming album b'lieve i'm goin down called "Pretty Pimpin." The video itself was filmed in California and plays like a visual round as Vile's character starts to double and triple as the song evolves. Musically, "Pimpin'" has more of a driving groove that rolls along through track than his last album which was more atmospheric. SEPTA announced today that they will not resume selling the special Regional Rail passes for the upcoming visit by Pope Francis for the remainder of this week. The system set up to take orders for the special Papal Passes was overwhelmed with traffic on Monday morning and had to be shut down shortly after it was launched. A guilty plea is expected from one of the men accused in a deadly Center City building collapse. Crane operator Sean Benschop's lawyer says he will plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges at a hearing Tuesday. Six people died in June 2013 when a brick wall being demolished fell onto the roof of a Salvation Army thrift store. SEPTA has suspended online sales of special passes for Regional Rail service during Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia in September due to technical problems. SEPTA had load tested the website over the weekend for 1,700 hits per seconds and expected a high volume of traffic when the passes went on sale at 9 a.m. Monday, but the actual traffic today was significantly higher and the servers couldn't keep up.
