The Amtrak train that derailed last night in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia 5 people and injured dozens of passengers, according to Mayor Michael Nutter. Train 188 was traveling from Washington, D.C., to New York City when it derailed. Amtrak says there were approximately 238 passengers and 5 crew members on board at the time of the derailment. The train derailment in Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood is impacting travel for the Wednesday morning commute. On Wednesday, Amtrak says modified Amtrak service will be provided between Washington and Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, and New York and Boston. There will be no Amtrak service between New York and Philadelphia, but New Jersey Transit will honor Amtrak tickets between New York City and Trenton.

Emergency crews are on the scene after a passenger train derailed Tuesday evening in the Philadelphia's Port Richmond section. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Wheatsheaf Lane near Frankford Ave. The Amtrak Northeast Regional train #188 was making its way from Washington, DC, to New York City. Four Philadelphia Police officers from the 35th District were injured in a hit-and-run after being struck following a struggle with the driver in the city's Olney section on Tuesday afternoon. Philadelphia police are looking for the man they say surveillance cameras caught stealing surveillance cameras in South Philly. Police admit they're puzzled as to why the man decided to steal surveillance cameras but they suspect he may plan to come back – maybe for a robbery. A man is under arrest after stealing a cash register from a Dunkin' Donuts in West Philadelphia. It happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the coffee shop near 63rd and Girard Streets.
Police say the man smashed the drive-thru window, grabbed the cash register and ran away. He was caught by police a short time later.

A female student from the School of the Future was hospitalized after someone threw a brick through a window of a school bus this afternoon in West Philadelphia. It happened around 4:30 pm at N. 47th and Aspen Streets. The brick was thrown through a window in the middle of the bus on the driver's side.
